Granted: STEAM Makerspace

Children working with a 3D printer at The Wilder School, a Montessori-inspired, tech-enriched micro school in Winchester, MA

We’re excited to announce that The Wilder School has been awarded a $10,000 grant from VELA Education Fund. Our proposal: a STEAM Makerspace where children can tinker, craft, mold, and experiment. Our vision for this space…

Through trial, failure, reflection, and adjustment, children become better adept at creative problem solving not only for today's problems, but also for the issues that have yet to arise. The STEAM Makerspace will serve as an incubator for exploration for both our current students and others.

Our grant will cover many of the initial expenses, but we have others that require sponsorship in order to operate. We are seeking sponsors to support our Makerspace lab, a part-time Innovation Guide (teacher), and additional technology in the space. If you know of an organization or individual who is passionate about providing innovative experiences to children, drop us a line!
